Vlog: Visit to 1D World

 Alright!

Welcome to our first real blog, before we start we recommend you to go and check out our vlog on our channel.

So… As the title says we went to visit One Direction World in Utrecht! Finally the merchandise store decided to visit our small country and we couldn’t leave this chance pass to go and have a look.

We wanted to meet up really early in the morning but we ended up being an hour late, because we both spend way too much time on our hair and make-up… (We are girls after all). We finally met up around 11 in the bus and made our way to the airport, which here in Holland is also our main train station. Here we had some Starbucks and discussed what our day would look like and what we expected. Lisa had the Java Chip Frap for the first time and oh lord, what an eye opener. Then we had a walk around the airport and we had a look around, checked out some stores, searched for ourselves on a big globe and found the biggest amusement in going down an escalator.

We did get kind of lost when we were looking for our train platform, seeing we have never been to Utrecht before! But we survived! And we made it to the mall where the 1D store was, pretty darn easy. (Especially seeing the Utrecht train station is connected to the mall.)

So first we had a walk around the mall, stopped for a waffle and then we made our way to 1D store. As soon as we turned the corner we saw a really long queue waiting for us. So finally in line we had to wait for two and a half hours. We felt slightly out of place in line, there were allot of young girls with parents, dressed up in One Direction merchandise… And then you had us, nearing our late teens, dressed like two punks. So you can see how that felt slightly awkward. After waiting two and a half hours, singing along to songs, spotting cute cut-outs from the guys and wondering if we were ever going to get in we finally saw the store. Now we were close enough to scream and freak out and fan girl and then it hit us. We were actually at One Direction World.

The gates opened and a wave of fans came rushing in. Thank god we let them pass us, because being as short as we are, we most probably wouldn’t have survived that. The first thing that we realised when walking in, was how simple the store looked, it was an empty room, covered in posters, cut outs and merchandise. Music was playing (from their Up all night tour), fans were taking pictures with every corner of the store, and we? Well we needed a minute to let it all sink in. Once we had, we decided to write something on the walls, we figured that buying merchandise wasn’t really our thing. There wasn’t anything specific that we needed to have so we just took a picture with one of our favourite guys. The photographer was really nice and enthusiastic, and even he thought that Savannah looked amazing next to Harry (lmao)!  Well if that doesn’t make a fan happy, we don’t know what would. After enjoying some of the music and the vibes we headed out of the door, because as fun as it was you just can’t stay there forever. But then came the walk of fame, the looks on people’s faces when you walk out of that store is victorious. As much as we fan’s support each other, I think we also want it all for ourselves.

So after getting some iTunes credit to buy Midnight Memories, we had a late lunch at McDonalds, where we could find allot of One Direction members sitting around us. Read: the cut outs. And for some reason people thought that the maps that we had our photos in were placemats, which… Really guys? That’s weally weird (a little pun from our 50 facts vid.) Who would eat on One Directions faces?!

Either way, we had a great time, we had such a fun day and we recommend all of you guys to go and visit a One Direction World! It’s a fun experience and the fans have such a great energy.

We hope you enjoyed our vlog/blog as much as we did making it!

 Much love,

Lilly and Vannah
