Get ready with us EMA edition

As you could read in the post about the EMA’s you would know that we decided to get ready by Vannah! And we decided to film the process.. So go check that video out by clicking here.

Now to be a little detailed on the products we used and our outfits please proceed reading! We hope you liked our get ready with us video!

Alright so we started out with make-up. It’s obvious in the video that we don’t wear much and that we obviously aren’t no professionals when it comes to this. Things we used..

Vannah's make up:
Kiko Mascara
Kiko Eyeliner
BB Cream foundation
Rimmel lipstick 160 Rose Passion

Lilly's make up:
L'oreal Lumi Magique light infusing foundation
Oriflame (lip)balm cherry
L'oreal Telescopic mascara
L'oreal Invincible kiss proof lipstick 204

We both started with the face, then moved on with the eyes and at last the lips. We both only use foundation, 1: because we don’t own concealers and 2: because the products we are using are pretty pigmented on their own, so they cover up pretty good.

First apply your foundation on the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. Spread. Connect all area’s! Then you can focus on the places that you would like to hide a bit more, like underneath the eyes, around the mouth and the nose. You also see us (or at least Lilly) applying foundation on her upper eyelid, I think a bunch of make-up guru’s wouldn’t agree with this? But seeing there was no eye shadow it helped to make the eye lid one color. If you have concealer and face powder this would be the moment you apply it to all those annoying places and set it with a face powder.

Then we move on to the eyes. As you can see with Vannah she applied a thin line of liquid eye liner, this makes the lash line a bit fuller without using falsies! We both use different mascara’s and as much as we would like to give you advice about this it’s best you choose something that matches your lashes. For example (lilly) don’t like my mascara to be too thick because I have pretty long full lashes. If but I know there are people out there who prefer different! A quick easy tip? Start with the bottom lashes first and then the upper lashes. This often helps to avoid marking your freshly applied foundation with mascara.

The last part of make-up… The lips! We both like to apply a bit of lip balm before applying lipstick.. Why? No idea! We just do! The lip balm I (Lilly) am using is from a brand named Oriflame that only works with organic product and their products smell amazing! The one I am using in the video smells like a cherry bubble gum. (fun tip, the Oriflame “lip balm” is basically a balm for any dry or rough places on the body, so you could apply it everywhere and it doesn’t leave a sticky thick goo behind! And you get to smell like cherry’s! Handy 2 in one product!) After this apply your lipstick and done! If you have a hard time staying in the lines or you rather shape your lips a bit more you can always apply a matching lip pencil.

Both extensions and donut were purchased at Primark

And now for the hair! We both straightened our hair seeing we both naturally have curly/wavy hair which would make these looks a bit harder to do. There are a bunch of video’s explaining how to make fishtail braids and make a ‘donut’ bun but if you would like to see ours, go and comment on our video! A quick explanation on the looks, Lilly added extensions to make the braid a bit thicker and Vannah added a bun to keep the nice round shape! To make the ponytail with extensions, you first make a smaller ponytail exactly where you would want to have your braid and clip the extensions round the small ponytail, then you pull the rest of the hair back, covering the clips and making a new ponytail. Then you braid the hair two strains at a time to make the fishtail! When it comes to the bun, you make a ponytail where you could like to have your bun. In Vannah’s cause a bit of hair was left aside to wrap around the bottom, but you don’t have to do this. You place the donut over your ponytail and cover the donut with your natural hair. Because Vannah has allot of hair! We tucked most of it in the donut, and then wrapped the left over bit around the bottom to cover it up. Make sure everything stay’s in place with bobby pins and hairspray and you are ready to go!

Vannah's earrings are from H&M
Her top is from Topshop
Her bracelet is from Forever21

Lilly's earings and necklace are from her mom
(in other words, I have no idea where they are from)
Lilly's bracelets/bangles are from Primark

When it came to jewelry we kept it very simple. For Vannah’s outfit she added some bright green earrings and a matching bracelet. Because her top already had colored stones at the top there was no need for any necklace! For Lilly’s outfit a golden necklace and earrings where used. Also a couple of white and gold bangles around the wrist! Later on I also added a black watch which we didn’t film..

Vannah's top and skirt are from Top Shop

Lilly's top, shorts and belt are from Primark

Vannah's bag is from Leather Satchel Company via Asos.com
Vannah's shoes are from Converse
Lilly's bag is from Primark
And
Lilly's shoes are also from Primark

For the outfit’s we stayed true to ourselves with a bit of added comfort! We didn’t have to dress up that much because we were in the crowd.. But we wouldn’t be Lilly and Vannah if we didn’t try and look our best!

We hope you enjoyed our video! And also this post! For any questions or suggestions don’t hesitate to contact us!

Much love

xoxo
